CRD Public Service Announcement – Taste and Odour in Greater Victoria’s Drinking Water
Victoria, BC – The Capital Regional District (CRD) Integrated Water Services advises residents that a stronger than usual chlorine smell and taste may be noticed until the end of January in some parts of Greater Victoria, as the result of maintenance activities related to the disinfection process that will be completed by January 18, 2021.
The safety of the drinking water is not affected throughout this period. To mitigate any unpleasant smell and taste, residents may choose to use regular tap filters or let the tap water stand for minimum 30 minutes prior to consumption.
